Very nice hike with magnificient views to Mafate. Consider it, if you are afraid of heights, because sometimes path goes very close to the cliffs. You also should start early as usual, fog and clouds are very frequent.

Tried to climb today with my wife. After promising begin in moonlight, it started to rain in the middle of climb, which was not a big deal as it was warm and without wind. But this changed after reaching pass, when freezing wind punched us into the face. We are well trained hikers, but continuing to the top would be madness. After changing to the dry clothes in cottage, long rainy way back in the water stream filling the path. Upway in 2h30, down in 1h30.

Access to the enclosure is closed due to the volcanic activity. However, view from Pas de Bellecombe and surroundings are magnificient

Journey only to the waterfall. It is not possible to go through the river without water shoes and waterproof bag.

I completed this amazing hike with my wife. You can park your car in the middle of village or at its end near picnic area. I really recommend going to the point of view. You can see almost whole cirque together with ocean. There is no sign of closure, if you take described path. Downclimb to the river is steep, sometimes little slippery, but you can grab the trees. Might be more difficult after the rain. Bamboo house is damaged, but the path to the picnic place is cleared from fallen bamboo. From picnic, go through small water stream, then turn left. There is sign of closure on the gravel road, but is almost unreadable. Bonus: you can almost overeat with goyaviers growing around the path.

Very nice rando with steep climb from Hell-Bourg. I strongly recommend start of trail before eight as you are hidden from the sun almost whole way to the Belouve.
